Annual Expense for 1 Student
It costs remarkably little to send a girl to boarding school in Northern Uganda. In addition to tuition, room and board, she must have several uniforms and everything with her. Think beyond school supplies, toiletries and linens – in Uganda, schools require students to bring their own mattress, jerry can (for carrying water), bucket, toilet paper and bag of rice.
African Girls Can volunteers travel to recruit new students at the beginning of the year and to the school periodically to check on and provide guidance to the girls.
