First Year Expense for 1 Nursing Student
While each type of post-secondary program has its unique cost, as one would expect, fees are substantially higher than lower levels of education. This poses an even greater challenge for students as their financial circumstances have not changed from when they started secondary school. For example, here are fees to earn a Certificate in Nursing.
* Note: A nursing certificate is a 5 semester, 2 ½ year program in Uganda.

- Nursing students are required to bring a clinical thermometer, stethoscope, nurses watch, blood pressure machine, text book, gumboots, Tororo cement, examination/surgical gloves (4 boxes), toilet paper (18 rolls), sanitary pads, counterbooks (10), and a ream of paper. Similar to secondary boarding school, nurses must also bring bedding (mattress, pillow, blanket, 2 sets of sheets), mosquito net, basin/bucket, broom, iron, eating utensils (plate, cut, silverware) with them to school. These were acquired by AGC when they began secondary school.
